ASCers Hit A High Note

ASCer, KARISE EDEN is ripping it up on The Voice Australia and I’m so proud of her! Her first performance “Its A Mans World’ was released to iTunes went to #12 on the singles charts and last week her second performance single ‘Nothing’s Real But Love’ went to #1 and sat there for days! It’s so popular on iTunes and getting so much airplay around the country that it entered the ARIA (Singles) chart at #9 in its first week! The original release of this song by Rebecca Ferguson peaked at only #41. I first met Karise in late 2009 when she came to me for coaching and mentoring. You can read about that meeting in my blog. Attendees and Faculty at ASC 2010 will remember Karise as one of our wonderful event assistants – and she knocked the socks off us all when she sang at the performance nights during the conference, gaining the attention of some pretty high profile folk. You can show your support for Karise by joining the fan page I’ve set up for her at www.facebook.com/KariseEdenFans. Karise has her official website at www.kariseeden.com

In other ASCer news, Resident Rock God, NICK ROBERTS, and his band, October Rage, are off to tour the USA in June, hot on the heals of their successful gigs with Bon Jovi last year and the release of their incredible debut album, “Outrage” (produced by ASC Faculty Speaker and Mentor, Adrian Hannan at The Song Store in Melbourne ). I went to the band’s Farewell Australia concert on the weekend and they rocked hard! Nick pens the songs for the band and his attention to the songwriting seminars and business building activities at the ASC shows in every song and in the rising success of this brilliant band. You can keep up with Nick and the band at their website www.octoberrage.com

A well deserved congratulations goes out to ASC 2009 and 2010 Faculty Mentor, LINDSAY RIMES, who has been nominated for 2012 APRA Rock Song Of The Year for ‘Switch Me On’, cowritten with Joel and Benji Madden and Shannon Noll. He also has four songs on the new McClymonts album, ‘ Two Worlds Collide’ and has been signed to EMI Publishing. Way to go, Linds! Writer Manager and regular ASC Faculty Speaker and Mentor, Diana Torossian, picked up Lindsay after ASC 2010 and she has done a fantastic job of steering his career. Lindsay’s website is at www.songrimes.com
